Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef revealed on Saturday that Italian club Catania has made an official bid to sign him on a three-year deal.

Catania s offer is worth $150,000. I m set to earn $450,000 per season and will have a 20 percent annual increase, Abdul-Monsef told FilGoal.com.

The Zamalek stand-in guardian had a trial with Lazio earlier this year, but the club, which is seeking to replace retired keeper Angelo Peruzzi, did not express its interest.

I won t be joining Lazio. The Italian club opted not to make any offer for my services.

Abdul-Monsef has been subjected to heavy criticism from Zamalek fans, who accused him of being responsible for the team s Arab Champions League exit at the hands of Jordan s Faisali.

However, Abdul-Monsef s performance towards the end of the season has earned him praise from media. He replaced regular keeper Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed, who was sidelined for long periods due to injury.

Abdul-Monsef said he will go back to Cairo on Monday and will wait for the reply of the Zamalek board that would determine his next destination.
