Clashes continue as pro-Morsi protesters march in Alexandria

Until 4 pm: Residents of El-Hadra district in Alexandria congregated to stop a pro-Mohamed Morsi march that began from the Qaed Ibrahim Mosque to the Security Directorate in the Semouha District, reported state-run Al-Ahram.

Gunfire and birdshots were heard during clashes between El-Hadra residents and protesters.

General Nasser El Abd, Alexandria security director told Reuters’ Aswat Masriya that 13 security formations are present all over the city to prevent violence.

The march is moving from the corniche road near the Qaed Ibrahim Mosque in Downtown Alexandria to Semouha.

Clashes are on now at El-Hadra district, according to Al-Ahram.

Several activists report that army forces are now in Sidi Gaber and Ibrahimeya, after gunshots were heard in these areas, reportedly from pro-Morsi protesters towards residents, although these reports remain unconfirmed at the time of writing.
