President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi left Cairo on Sunday morning to attend the 69th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.
Al-Sisi heads the Egyptian delegation for the annual meeting, joining Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry who travelled to New York via Washington DC last week.
The president is expected to address the UN Climate Summit on Tuesday according to the programme of the summit.
The UN General Assembly’s general debate, on the theme ‘Delivering on and Implementing a Transformative Post-2015 Development Agenda’, is set to start on Wednesday and will see representatives from each country address the assembly.
Al-Sisi is expected to address the UN’s General Assembly on Thursday according to state-run news agency MENA.
