The government did not invite Ahmed Ezz to attend the Economic Summit, despite owning the biggest steel company nationwide, the tycoon’s lawyer Mostafa Hamouda told Daily News Egypt.

On the other hand, invitations were sent to 90% of the now-defunct National Democratic Party`s businessmen, including Mohamed Abou El- Enein, Hamouda noted on the sidelines of the summit in Sharm El-Sheikh.

On Sunday, the Administrative Court  will issue its final sentence in the the appeal against excluding Ezz from running the paramilitary elections.

Ahmed Ezz previously stated that he would respect the  court`s decision.

The controversial leading figure of ouster president Mubarak’s regime is currently also standing trial for acquiring free illegal licenses for his steel factories. The trial has been adjourned to 5 May.
