In a fun-packed night, superhero movie“Avengers: Age of Ultron”, the second in the hit franchise, was released in Egypt’s movie theatres Tuesday prior to its US premier.
Activities and camera clicks filled the air as fans played to win numerous giveaways and showed off their favourite superhero costume in photo booths.
Chipsy Marketing Manager Kareem Barakah said that the company was keen to bring this surprise film to Egypt, to be among the first countries to view it.
The movie, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team, is the eleventh movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and comes as a sequel to 2012’s “The Avengers”.
PepsiCo’s Doritos teamed up with Marvel Entertainment for the exclusive event. The fully integrated promotional campaign will reach consumers at various touch points, including in-store displays, on pack design, a global television commercial, and a dedicated website, as well as on digital and social platforms.
“Doritos fans are bold like the characters in the Marvel franchise and they are hungry for content about Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, which is poised to be one of the biggest film releases ever,” said Ann Mukherjee, President of PepsiCo Global Snacks Group and PepsiCo Global Insights. “We are thrilled to partner with Marvel to offer exclusive behind-the-scenes access and unique experiences we know our fans crave, in a fun and dynamic way that only Doritos can deliver.”
The movie stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth and Samuel L. Jackson. It is set to be released on 1 May in the US.
Two sequels, “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2”, are scheduled to be released on 4 May, 2018, and 3 May, 2019, respectively.
