Ministry of Industry and Trade to offer new industrial parks in upper Egypt July 4th

Each industrial complex will include 200 small factories

Minister of Industry and Trade, Tarek Kabil, announced that in July, four industrial parks will be offered in the governorates of Minya, Beni Suef, Al-Fayoum, and Aswan in a step towards the implementation of the ministry’s plan to establish eight licensed industrial parks in upper Egypt.

The minister said that the special procedures and planning for the 4 industrial complexes to be completed before the end of the current year. Every complex has an area of 300 thousand square metres and includes 200 small factories in each governorate.

During Kabil’s visit to Al-Minya governorate, he handed contracts for new lands to investors in the industrial park of Al Matahrah. He explained that achieving an industrial development in upper Egypt is one of the ministry’s top priorities, adding that the decision of the Supreme Council for Investment, headed by the president, to award industrial lands for free in upper Egypt has contributed to an increase in the demand for investment in industrial activities.

The minister’s visit also included the inspection of two factories in the industrial zone, funded by the small, medium, and micro-finance development authority, with loans worth EGP 12m. One of them is a pasta-production factory, which employs around 56 workers, and the second is a slaughterhouse, which received a loan of EGP 9m of direct lending from the authority and which employs 74 workers and sells its products in the towns and villages of the area.

The total amount of industrial land that has been allocated free of charge in the governorates, since the decision of the Supreme Council for Investment was issued, is 173 with total area of 520,000 square metres, said president of the Industrial Development Authority Ahmed Abdel Razek.
