Italian tourist released on bail of EGP 100,000 pending investigations

The tourist accused of killing Egyptian supervising engineer at a hotel in Marsa Allam in Hurghada


Red Sea Court has released Italian tourist accused of killing Egyptian supervising engineer at a hotel in Marsa Allam in Hurghada on bail of EGP 100,000 pending investigations, local media reported.

The incident occurred after a dispute between the Italian tourist and the Egyptian engineer when the Egyptian victim tried to tell the Italian tourist that his presence at the construction site was forbidden, but the tourist who was accompanied by his two young daughters insisted to stay.

The tourist was arrested and handed over to Marsa Allam`s police officers in early August. During the investigations the tourist, Evan Pascal Moro, confessed that he assaulted the engineer, leading to his death.

Egyptian engineer Tarek Al-Henawy was working in a touristic resort under construction in the Red Sea city of Marsa Allam.

Previously Minister of Tourism that concerned authorities will take legal measures to punish the criminal, and Egypt’s Foreign Affairs Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said that will politicize the case through escalating against Italy.
