Tarek Metwally resigns from BLOM Bank Egypt after 31 years

Metwally was the Deputy Managing Director and Board Member

Tarek Metwally, deputy managing director and board member of BLOM Bank Egypt, resigned after 31 years at the bank. The resignation is due to take effect on 1 November 2017.

Metwally joined Banque Misr Romania, which was later acquired by BLOM Bank in 1987. Metwally was appointed to the position of deputy managing director and board member, and was responsible for the corporate, treasury, and money market sectors of the Bank.

In addition to his responsibilities at the bank, Metwally has served as chairperson of the board of directors of Bloom Securities, and he was a board member at Arope Life Insurance Company, at Arope Property Insurance, and at Concord for the promotion of IPOs and asset management. He is also a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham) and Union of Arab Securities Authorities (UASA).

Metwally graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University in 1984, and received a lot of training courses inside and outside Egypt, in America, Switzerland, Greece, Frankfurt, and a number of Arab countries in the fields of money and credit management, risk and governance, and strategic planning, additionally his role in credit from JP Morgan Chase & Co. in London.
