The global automotive brand, Genesis Motors, has appointed Altar Yilmaz as General Manager for the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
Yilmaz has 20 years of experience in the luxury car industry, as he spent more than 15 years at Mercedes-Benz from the late 1990s, in addition to holding senior positions at Porsche and Cadillac.
He has also held positions in international car manufacturing companies and distribution agencies in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Yilmaz said he looks forward to contributing to the growth of the brand in the MEA, adding, “the luxury car market is very competitive, but also has enormous potential for growth. With its commitment to excellence in design, technology, and quality, Genesis has a bright future in this region and globally.”
The launch of flagship sedan G90 in the region in 2016 marks the first major launch of the luxury brand, now offering the G80 Sport mid-sized luxury sedan, and is poised to begin sales of the compact G70 sedan.
Through its new position, Yilmaz will ensure that Genesis customers have an exemplary relationship that is consistent with the brand’s high standards.
Manfred Fitzgerald, senior vice president and head of Genesis Brand, welcomed the new general manager, emphasising that Genesis is keen to meet the expectations of the most demanding customers.
“The appointment of a dedicated general manager for the Africa and Middle East region is an important step to ensure that we can meet these expectations and establish strong and high-level relationships with our customers,” said Fitzgerald.
