The Smart Village, in Sixth of October city, hosted on Friday Vintage Wheels Egypt’s sixth annual Cairo Classic Car Meet. The one-day event hosted about 200 vehicles and motorcycles that were manufactured between early 1924 and 1988.
Mahmoud Ezz El-Din, one of the event’s organisers, said the number of cars and motorcycles participating in the event is increasing year by year. The number of visitors, especially youth, also increase, whose presence is very significant for them to learn about the history of vehicles, he added.
Ezz El-Din added that buying old cars and motorcycles is a universal hobby, and it can be used to attract tourists to Egypt in a way that benefits the country.
The NADA Foundation for Safer Egyptian Roads participated in the event and presented to the visitors several messages to raise awareness about road safety to preserve human lives and reduce road accidents.
The event was not limited to classic cars, but also included modern luxury vehicles, such as the Ferrari 458 Spider, BMW M4 CS and McLaren 570S. Vintage Wheels announced it will organise a 200-km rally for classic cars and motorcycles on 13 April, but no further details were revealed.
