Sphinx Glass aims to enter new markets in Africa

Company considering new investments in Egypt

Wassim Khalil, commercial manager at Sphinx Glass, said that his company aims to enter new markets in East and South Africa, adding that the company already exports to many countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

Khalil told Daily News Egypt that the Egyptian market takes 65% of its annual production, adding, “our daily capacity is 650 tonnes, and we look forward to benefiting from the customs and trade agreements in Africa.”

Sphinx Glass was established in 2008 and started production in 2010 with capital of EGP 1bn, added Khalil, noting that the company will expand its business in the future.

Adding new investments in the market depends on many factors, such as consumption habits and the economic environment, said Khalil.

“The economic situation in Egypt is improving and the stability is visible to everyone, and there are many real estate companies expanding in different areas, which gives the opportunity for my company to expand its business,” noted Khalil.

“Sphinx Glass may invest in new production lines,” adding that his company will participate in the Glasstec exhibition in Germany in October and another Egyptian glass exhibition in September.
