Marina owners demand withdraw confidence from occupant’s union

Owners appealed to President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Minister of Housing to intervene

A group of property owners at Marina held a press conference on Friday and announced their demand to withdraw confidence from the occupant’s union and managing company.

The Marina owners decided to launch several pages on social networking sites “Marina owners,” “Marina intensification case,” “Marina rescue case,” and “Withdraw confidence from occupants union and the management company.”

They stressed that the union of occupants and the management company are responsible for what happened to Marina due to neglecting the interests of the village.

The participants noted that the owners fled because of the low level of hygiene, the spread of garbage, the continuous water cuts, and the destruction of green areas. Moreover, the neglect of building maintenance, as well as the neglect of beaches and low security control, allowed foreigners to enter the village and threaten the security of the owners.

Furthermore, building villas on the lakes violates the regulations of the village where the percentage of maximum permitted occupancy [building area] is supposed to be 20% but it actually exceeded 23%.

The owners accused the union of occupants of direct responsibility for Marina bad situation, in addition to the obvious expenses incurred in not presenting the budget to the general assembly to be informed of its items, and lack of clarity regarding the maintenance deposits, currently estimated at EGP 104m.

The owners appealed to President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and the Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly to intervene in order to eliminate the overlap in the terms of reference between the Tourist Villages Authority of Marina and the occupant’s union.

They claim that the government ignored the appeals of Marina owners because it threatens the new villages it is building, such as the New El Alamein, because what happened in Marina in terms of neglect represents a negative image to the investor, who wants to invest in new government projects.
