Narrative Disruptors summit to cement role of technology in bolstering national identity: CEO of CC Plus

Ministers of communications, immigration to take part as keynote speakers

Egypt’s international tech innovation summit titled ‘Narrative Disruptors’ announced the full agenda of its first edition and the lineup of speakers during a press conference in Cairo on Sunday.

The summit is organised by the Egyptian PR firm CC Plus, in partnership with the leading digital solutions company VictoryLink. It is a side-forum of international public relations gathering Narrative PR Summit – also created by CC Plus – and the first implementation of the summit’s 2018 key recommendations.

“Narrative Disruptors is meant to highlight the role of leading disruptors in the growth of various industries and how technology innovation and entrepreneurship had been catalysts for that growth. We want to bring to the fore changemakers and to show our audience what it really means to be a risktaker in today’s digitised economy,” says Lamia Kamel, the CEO of CC Plus.

Kamel further added, “Narrative Disruptors summit’s goal is to cement the role of technology in bolstering national identity.”

The summit’s speakers’ line-up will feature the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, and the Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs, Nabila Makram, as keynote speakers. Other influential professionals speaking at the event include UN Women County Representative in Egypt Blerta Aliko, the Chairperson and Managing Director of e-finance Ibrahim Sarhan, the Executive Chairperson and CEO of the Egyptian Credit Bureau (iScore), Mohamed Kafafi, the Executive Director of Global Communications and External Affairs at Beautiful Destinations, Elizabeth Linder, the CEO of Orascom Development Holding, Khaled Bichara, and the Chairperson and CEO of Al Ismaelia for Real Estate Investment, Karim Shafei.

Moreover, Engy El Sabban, the CEO and board member of VictoryLink, says the forum will help empower the communications industry to stimulate growth.

Furthermore, Ibrahim Sarhan lauded the idea behind the summit and the issues that it will discuss. He stressed that digital transformation is a state strategy that is currently being implemented in partnership with all sectors with the aim of providing citizens with special services through electronic transactions that will also aid in eradicating corruption.

Meanwhile, the UN Women Country Representative, Blerta Aliko, stated that the ongoing political commitment on women’s financial inclusion is contributing to accelerating action toward providing access to and increasing utilisation of gender sensitive financial services. These efforts are enhancing women’s entrepreneurship skills and livelihood opportunities leading to shrinking the gender gap in employment, social, and economic participation.
