K-Movie Nights to kick off in mid-September

South Korean ambassador, Egyptian filmmaker Khaled Jalal to inaugurate the event

The ambassador of South Korea to Egypt Yeocheol Yoon and the Egyptian director Khaled Jalal will inaugurate the K-Movie Nights on 15 September at El-Hanager Cinema at the Cairo Opera House.

The event offers a new set of films combining drama, crime, and comedy, and will run over three nights until 17 September.

Three films: Little Forest, Detective K: Secret of the Virtuous Widow, and Assassination, will be screened with Arabic subtitles.

The K-Movie Nights will also include two screenings at the Misr Public Library in Port Said, where Little Forest will be displayed on 18 September, while Tunnel will be displayed on 19 September.

Director of the Korean Culture Center in Cairo, Yang Sang Keun, emphasised the importance of the movie screenings in promoting cultural exchange as well as increasing mutual understanding between Egypt and Korea.

He added that the Korean Culture Center in Cairo has a year-round programme of film screenings at its premises in Dokki, noting that these screenings helped Korean culture fans in Egypt to closely experience Korean culture, as well as discover the Korean lifestyle.
