Egypt sends second aid package to Sudan

“The aid also comes in light of the Egyptian concern to achieve stability in the brotherly Sudan,” the statement stated.

Egypt has sent the second aid package to Sudan, the foreign ministry announced on Tuesday.

The ministry said that the aid package comes within the framework of the brotherhood relations and cooperation between the two countries, and implementing President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s instructions to provide all the necessary support to Sudan to assist with the transitional period.

“The aid also comes in light of the Egyptian concern to achieve stability in the brotherly Sudan,” the statement stated.

The ministry said that a number of Sudanese officials received the aid package in Al-Hurriya Square in central Khartoum, in the presence of Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid, Mohamed Al-Sennar Mustafa, and Rashid al-Sayed, spokesperson of the Sudanese Professionals Association, as well as leaders from the ministries of defense, foreign affairs and Sudanese Red Crescent.

Egyptian ambassador in Khartoum Hossam Eissa affirmed the support of the government and people of Egypt for Sudan and its support for the goals and aspirations of the Sudanese people. “So that Sudan would enjoy the international, political, and economic status it deserves, commensurate with its natural and human potential,” Eissa added.
