Farouk Hosni art exhibition opens 26 February

The exhibition will display 52 paintings that Hosni worked on in the past two years.


Farouk Hosni, Egypt’s former minister of Culture, and veteran abstract artist,  is to hold an art exhibition showcasing some of his latest portraits at Zamalek’s Aisha Fahmy Palace (the centre of arts) on 26 February.

The exhibition will display 52 paintings that Hosni worked on in the past two years.

The exhibition’s opening night will be attended by Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, and Khaled Sorour, the Head of the Fine Arts Sector at the ministry.

In his latest exhibition, Hosni returns to collage art, which he mastered in the 1980s. The artwork showcases blue, yellow and green as the dominating colours.

Hosni’s work has been on display at a number of international museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Carousel Louvre in Paris, the Tokyo Museum of Art in Japan, the Houston Museum of Art in Texas, USA, and Fort Lauderdale Museum in Florida(USA.

Hosni was the minister of culture from 1987 up till the cabinet was changed in 2011 due to the 25 of January revolution.
