Hundreds of Egyptians repatriated from US enter Covid-19 quarantine in Marsa Alam

Maged Fawzi, Chairperson of the EHA, said the returnees underwent medical examination for Covid-19 upon their arrival at Marsa Alam Airport.

A number of 293 Egyptian adults and 13 infants were quarantined at a hotel in Marsa Alam for 14 days after they were repatriated from Washington DC, US, according to the Egyptian Hotel Association (EHA) in a Friday press statement.

Maged Fawzi, Chairperson of the EHA, said the returnees underwent medical examination for Covid-19 upon their arrival at Marsa Alam Airport.

He added that the EHA supervised the process of selecting the quarantine hotels, so that the repatriates could enjoy the sunny atmosphere in the Red Sea during their stay.

Fawzi noted that the quarantine hotels were sterilised, and their staff were trained on prevention and health measures in accordance with the standards of the World Health Organization.

He pointed out that the returnees were tested again upon their arrival at the hotels by doctors residing there.

Moreover, another batch of repatriates will arrive Marsa Alam for quarantine coming from the US, within the next two days.
