EITESAL hosts world marketing expert on Covid-19 crisis management

Chris Gerretsen will draw roadmap helping startups, SMEs overcome Covid-19 fallout

Egyptian Information, Telecommunications, Electronics, and Software Alliance (EITESAL), a non-profit entity of ICTE companies, has announced hosting Chris Gerretsen, founder of Aexus for IT services marketing and sales, via videoconference on 4 May to walk through the coronavirus pandemic impact on the sector. Gerretsen’s discussion will take place from the perspective of sales and marketing.

Mohamed Shedeed, Managing Director of EITESAL, said they have recently taken steps to think forward and explore the general business environment in case the virus continues to spread.

During his talk, Gerretsen will draw a road map helping companies, particularly start-ups and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), deal with crises. This is particularly from the perspective of an accelerating spread of disease and inability to develop a vaccine to prevent its negative effects.

Shedeed added that, during the coronavirus pandemic and in light of the government’s precautionary measures, companies need to alter their behaviours to comply with the new business climate.

With Gerretsen on hand, EITESAL will work to answer several questions, including how successful companies act, how to invest in developing commercial relations and supporting the relationship with new and existing clients.

The company is also looking to answer questions on taking advantage of the current pandemic, an otherwise negative experience, and turn it into a business opportunity.

Shedeed added that IT sector sales have been negatively affected as business ground to a halt due to the ongoing pandemic. Global economies have been generally hit hard, as most countries have closed borders and stopped flights in efforts to curb the virus.
