He added that the total number of plots of land that are suitable for implementing the initiative amounted to about 278 plots of land in different areas, and the necessary building and commercial licenses for the new SMEs will be granted in coordination with the concerned authorities.

Shaarawy pointed out that his ministry seeks to establish about 384 industrial complexes, 650 medium projects, and 2,000 small and micro enterprises under the initiative, providing about 330,000 direct job opportunities.

The first phase of the initiative will comprise four plots of land in four governorates. The areas of these plots range from 4,000 sqm to 9,600 sqm.

For her part, Minister Hala El-Said said that this initiative aims to increase the productivity of villages, maximise local production, reduce waste, and nurture a new generation of entrepreneurs.

Mohamed El-Sewedy said that the FEI has coordinated with the Ministry of Local Development to check the selected plots of land to ensure their suitability for the new projects that will be implemented by businesspeople, investors, and industrial developers.
