900k users access Fixed Solutions’ platform for electricity services

Company also launches ‘Study in Egypt’ platform to help foreign students apply to Egyptian universities

Fixed Solutions CEO Mahmoud Tawfik has announced that more than 900,000 citizens were able to access the company’s platform to submit coded electricity meter requests electronically in an easy and accessible manner without the need for customers to go to service centres.

He noted that his company has collaborated with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy to establish this unified digital platform for electricity services.

This aims to facilitate procedures for citizens, with the full set of electricity services to be made available on the platform to reduce burdens and prevent overcrowding.

Tawfik added that during 2020, a number of digital platforms were launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. These include the Student Scientific Supervision Platform, which aims to speed up the completion of procedures for placing students under scientific supervision through automating the work cycle.

This starts from the time students submit their documents to the Central Administration of Scholarships through the platform, and when they obtain all the necessary approvals. The platform will also allow them to send documents electronically to the Recruitment and Mobilization Department to complete the procedures, in addition to providing travel permits electronically.

Students will be able to electronically document the enrolment, whether through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s cultural offices abroad or Egyptian embassies and consulates.

Tawfik added that 2020 witnessed the launch of the “Study in Egypt” platform, which aims to provide services for foreign students to study in Egyptian universities. He explained that the platform is integrated and linked to all parties concerned with the file of foreign students.

The aim is to allow students to complete their university admission procedures online. He said that it is linked to public universities, the Supreme Council of Universities and the Department of International Students, and private universities in the second phase.

The platform aims to facilitate the student’s obtaining of a study visa to enter the country, and direct communication between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies abroad, and the Central Administration for Expatriates.

Tawfik emphasised that the group was keen on having the basic elements in place to be able to sustain strategic projects entrusted to it, such as project management teams, research and development, and software development.

The Group has also been keen on complying with international standards in the use of advanced technologies and compliance with cyber security standards. He stressed that the state has adopted the executive regulations of the law to combat cyber crimes.

It seeks, in accordance with the digital solutions expansion strategy, to raise the efficiency of the support services provided to customers and to have a sustainable operating model that is scalable and adaptable. It also aspires to start partnerships and new businesses in the Middle East and Africa.

Tawfik said that the state has paid great attention over the past six years to giving Egyptian companies and national groups the opportunity to participate in national projects, especially projects emanating from the national “Digital Egypt” programme.
