Egypt’s Al-Sisi inspects harvest season of mega agricultural project in Western Desert

Presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady said, in an official statement, that the project is within the mega national project “New Delta” to cultivate one million feddan along the Rod Al-Farag - New Dabaa Axis.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi inspected, on Tuesday, the harvest season at the giant agricultural project, Mostaqbal Misr, in the Western Desert.

Presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady said, in an official statement, that the project is within the mega national project “New Delta” to cultivate one million feddan along the Rod Al-Farag – New Dabaa Axis.

The project is located near Sphinx and Borg Al-Arab Airports and the Mediterranean’s Dekheila and Alexandria ports, facilitating the delivery of inputs and finished products.

It also seeks to be an attractive agricultural destination to investors, as it targets the development of the western North Coast through the establishment of new agricultural and urban communities marked by proper governance systems.

It will also see the establishment of industrial communities that are founded on full-fledged agricultural production and several stages of crop cultivation and harvest using the latest mechanisms and then sorting, packing and production.

The Mostaqbal Misr project will provide over 200,000 new job opportunities, the statement said.

Last month, Al-Sisi urged an immediate implementation of the New Delta project, as part of the state’s efforts to develop modern agricultural and urban complexes.

He urged tightening the time frame to implement the New Delta project and integrating all implementation phases into a single phase.
