Egypt launches technical competence programme for Higher Education Ministry staff

Programmes includes training courses, seminars, workshops for Ministry’s staff


The development and services sector at Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has organised several programmes and activities aimed at raising the administrative and technical competence of the ministry’s staff. 

Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed, on Saturday, a report made by the development sector. The report outlined the efforts made to organise training programmes, courses, seminars, and workshops for staff in cooperation with the Central Agency for Organisation and Administration (CAOA). 

The training courses include: digital transformation of government leaders; online work skills; an advanced programme for digital transformation; in addition to programmes for the public servants who are candidates for transferral to the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

The sector has also carried out several activities to serve the community, including developing employees and students at the institutes, supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. 

The training aims to raise student awareness of the environmental issues, whilst encouraging the setting up of small and micro environmental projects by students to combat unemployment and poverty issues. 

The sector also organised seminars for students to spread the idea of ​​self-employment, and to encourage young people to establish private projects. This is in addition to enhancing ​​entrepreneurial skills, management, and marketing for these projects. 

As part of the 100 Million Health presidential initiative, the report confirmed that it had screened about 221 employees, and transferred 65 of them to government hospitals to receive free treatment. 

The report said all educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research hosted the 100 Million Health in order to screen all faculty members, administrators, and students.
