Deadline for Egypt’s Thanaweyya Amma exam registration set at 11 May

Schools that fail to meet this deadline will be held legally accountable

Egypt’s Ministry of Education and Technical Education has called on Thanaweyya Amma (high school leaving) students to register for their exams no later than 11 May.

Deputy Minister of Education Redha Hegazy confirmed that about 10% of schools had submitted all forms required for the registration via the ministry’s website.

The ministry stressed that schools that fail to meet this deadline will be held legally accountable.

Earlier, Minister of Education and Technical Education Tarek Shawky announced that high school students will be allowed to enter examination committees with textbooks and digital resources.

He said that students who do not have tablet devices can take a hard copy of the school books or a printed copy with them.

The minister said that the details and controls for the Thanaweyya Amma exams will be announced after the Eid Al-Fitr holidays. The announcement will relate to the examination system this year, and also the preventive measures taken against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Shawky stressed that the examinations will be held electronically, adding that the May experimental exams will be held for high school students to test the efficiency of the tablets.
