Finance Ministry integrates income, value-added tax collection offices in September

Ministry is moving strongly to accelerate digitizing tax system

Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait announced, on Saturday, that income and value-added tax (VAT) collection offices will be incorporated in September, after income and sales tax offices have been merged.

He added that the ministry is moving strongly to accelerate digitizing the tax system to stimulate investment and increase efficiency of tax collection.

He explained that the merger operation will take place this month, resulting in 10 integrated offices.

He pointed out that this would unite all tax funds (income, VAT) in one office, which would unify the interface of dealing with the office.

Reda Abdel Kader, head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, said the integration will apply to 14 offices: Sayeda Zeinab (income), Khalifa (income), Darb El-Ahmar (Income), Mainal (Income), Old Cairo (income), Dar El Salam (income), Basatin (income), Maadi (income), Helwan (income), 15 May (income), Old Cairo (VAT), Helwan (VAT), Maadi (VAT), Maadi (VAT), and Sayeda Zeinab (VAT).

However, he noted that all tax procedures can be conducted electronically via the Tax Authority’s online portal.
