In a post on its official Twitter account, CAF said, “[We have] learnt with shock, reports of missing AFCON trophies from the Egyptian Football Association secretariat. Our doors are open and the EFA can count on our support in the search for the priceless memorabilia.”
The agreement was signed on 12 February by CAF President Ahmad Ahmad and Egypt’s Minister of Sports and Youth Ashraf Sobhi. It was later approved by Egypt’s Parliament, giving CAF immunities and privileges similar to those granted to international organisations and diplomatic missions.
In a statement, on Monday, CAF announced the final calendar for both semi-final matches, as well as the finals of both the Confederation Cup and Champions League.
